Energy Minister Bhusal holds talks with Austrian and Canadian Ambassadors (audio report)

April 12, Kathmandu: The Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal separately met the Non-Residential Ambassadors of Austria and Canada to Nepal on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations between their countries and Nepal.

The Ambassador of Austria to Nepal, Katharina Wieser, paid a courtesy call on Minister Bhusal at the Energy Ministry.

During the meeting, Minister Bhusal and the Austrian Ambassador Wieser exchanged views on various matters including mutual relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Energy Minister Bhusal also stressed the need for further cooperation between the two countries on climate change risk reduction.

She expressed confidence that the Austrian government will support Nepal in meeting the sustainable development goals by 2030.

Congratulating Wieser on her appointment as the Ambassador of Austria to Nepal, Minister Bhusal expressed the belief that the ties between the two countries would grow in strength in the coming days.

Likewise, the newly-appointed Ambassador of Canada to Nepal, Cameron Dean MacKay, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal in Singha Durbar on Tuesday itself.

On the occasion, they discussed the matter of bilateral relations and, various topics of mutual cooperation.

Minister Bhusal thanked the government and people of Canada for assisting Nepal in the civil aviation, rural and mountain development, renewable energy and food security sectors.

The Canadian Ambassador assured that the Canadian government and the private sector from Canada would collaborate for providing the technical assistance needed for Nepal.
