Cabinet decides to accept 1.37 billion rupees grant assistance from EU
Kathmandu: The government has decided to accept the grant assistance of 1.37 billion rupees to be received from the European Union. The assistance will be used for the Sustainable Drinking Water and Sanitation Project.

Unveiling the latest cabinet decision on Tuesday, Communication Minister and Government Spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed that the cabinet meeting also decided to receive the grant assistance of 950 million rupees to be provided by the Swiss government.
The Swiss government’s assistance will be utilized for the implementation of the Quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training Project.
Communication Minister Karki further said the cabinet decided to ease the process of registering industries.
Likewise, the cabinet appointed actor Bhuwan KC as the Chair of the Film Development Board.
On a different note, the Communication Minster said the Election Commission had recommended the government fix the 18th of November as the date for the provincial and federal elections.
He added that the government would announce the election date after holding discussions with concerned stakeholders.
