Government forms Main Democracy Day Celebration Committee led by PM Deuba

Kathmandu: The Main Democracy Day Celebration Committee has been formed under the convenorship of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to mark the 72nd Democracy Day.

A meeting of the committee held on Wednesday decided to mark the democracy day for three days from February 18 to 20 organizing various programs.

On the 7th of Falgun in Nepali Calendar, a special event will be organized at the army pavilion, Tundikhel.

The committee has also decided to illuminate homes across the country with lights, and shower flowers from a helicopter at Tundikhel.

Likewise, the meeting formed various subcommittees.

A meeting of the publicity subcommittee chaired by Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Dr Baikuntha Aryal, and also the Convenor of the Democracy Day Publicity Sub-committee, decided to mark the Day by organizing various programmes via the media.
