Insufficient budget mars upgradation of Nagma-Gamgadhi road section

February 23, Khalanga: The upgradation job of the Nagma-Gamgadhi road section of Karnali Highway has been affected by the lack of sufficient budget to advance the construction task.

The task was affected as the Rs 97 million budget released by the federal government for the current fiscal year was completed in the first three months. With the completion of the budget, the federal government again sent Rs 50 million but that amount has finished.

Chief of Road Division Office, Jumla, Leela Bhandari said that the construction work is not taking place as per the estimate. The job of gravel and drain construction is incomplete and payment of Rs 120 million for the contractor is delayed due to insufficient budget.

In the current fiscal year, gravel work of 34 km road along the Gamgadhi-Nagma is completed and the gravel work of 59 km is yet to carry out.
