Demand to probe Saptari incident related to death of Dr Yadav

Kathmandu: CPN (UML) parliamentarian Sarita Kumari Giri has demanded an impartial investigation into the demise of Dr Bijay Kumar Yadav of Bishnupur Rural Municipality in the Saptari district.

Demanding time with Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Agni Prasad Sapkota in today’s HoR meeting, Giri accused the Nobel Medical College administration of trying to stage the murder of Dr Yadav as an accident. Giri claimed that Dr Yadav was brutally murdered on June 1 night.

Yadav was an orthopaedic specialist in the Nobel Hospital in Morang. Giri further blamed the Nepal Police had attempted to destroy the evidence related to Dr Yadav’s murder whose dead body, according to her, was lying abandoned on the premises of his rented house. The dead body also contained bruises that occurred from the attack, claimed Giri.

Parliamentarian Giri claimed that Dr Yadav’s family has been claiming that the doctors, employees and pharmaceutical shops were involved in the murder of Dr Yadav and demanded a parliamentary probe committee to bring the culprit to justice and serve justice to the victim’s families. —
