Government decides to rescue Nepalis in Afghanistan

August 17, Kathmandu: The government has decided to rescue the Nepali nationals in Afghanistan at the earliest

Informing about the cabinet decision on Monday, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and government Spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said the meeting of the Council of Ministers had directed the concerned authorities to carry out rescue operations for the Nepalis in Afghanistan.

Government Spokesperson Karki shared that the cabinet meeting also dwelt on matters relating to the hunger strike being staged by the former British Gurkhas in Britain’s capital London for equal pensions.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the Government of Nepal will rescue all the Nepali nationals from Afghanistan.

Ensuring necessary coordination with the concerned authorities for the rescue efforts, PM Deuba took to his Twitter handle and said the government had already taken cognizance of the issue.

Ensuring the government’s full support, PM Deuba shared that he had already instructed the officials concerned to make arrangements for rescue efforts.
