Achham floods and landslide death toll reaches 23

Kathmandu: Monsoon rain-induced landslides and floods have killed at least 23 people in Achham leaving other 10 people critically injured.

Achham Police Chief DSP Narayan Dangi said all the deceased had been identified.

As per the police report, a minor was swept by a landslide in Dhakaari rural municipality-2 and a man got killed in the flood of the Charai River in the same rural municipality.

Likewise, 9 people were killed in the disasters in Turmakhand Rural Municipality-5.

Similarly, a total of 12 people were killed in the disasters in Kamal Bazar municipality wards number 6 and 8.

Among the critically injured ones, 3 people have been airlifted to the provincial hospital at Surkhet, and the other 7 people are undergoing treatment in different local and district level hospitals.
