Communication Minister Karki reiterates government’s commitment to freedom of expression and rights to privacy

Kathmandu: Communication and Information Technology Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has reiterated the government’s commitment to freedom of expression and rights to privacy.

Unveiling the latest decisions of the cabinet today, Communication Minster Karki rejected the accusation of the Opposition CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma that the government deployed a spy on him and tapped calls of citizens.

Communication Minister Karki said the cabinet meeting decided to receive a concessional loan of 14.69 billion rupees from the Government of Japan to improve the transmission and distribution of electricity in urban areas.

Minister Karki also informed that the cabinet agreed to form a committee to determine compensation to people affected by the Middle Bhotekoshi Hydroelectricity Project.
