Nepal Conducting National Tiger Census from today

December 5, Kathmandu: The Government is conducting 4th National Tiger Census from Sunday. The Census will be inagurated amid a special program at Sauraha of Chitwan.

Director General at Department of National park and Wildlife Conservation Dr. Ramchandra Kadel said 40 million Rupees is expected to conduct the Census.

He also informed that special attention has been given for the security of Census takers.

He added insurance of 1 million Rupees each has been ensured for the Census takers.

Dr Kadel also said the inauguration ceremony would be attended by Minister for Forest and Environment Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav and other High-level Officials.

The Census will be conducted through the Camera Trapping method. The Tiger Census has been conducted since 2008 A.D.

In 2018 National Tiger Census, the number of adult Tigers counted were 2 hundred 35.
