Radio Nepal should counter disinformation: Secretary Aryal

October 8, Kathmandu: Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Dr Baikuntha Aryal has stressed the need for Radio Nepal to become more competent by disseminating fair and factual news and information.

Addressing the farewell program organized by Radio Nepal for its retired employees on Friday, Dr Aryal, who is also the Chairperson of Radio Nepal Broadcast Development Committee, said that it was imperative for Radio Nepal to become even more competitive by countering disinformation.

 Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director of Radio Nepal, Buddhi Bahadur KC said that work was being carried out to increase the number of FM stations in order to expand Radio Nepal’s access across the country.

Executive Director KC also informed that Radio Nepal would be taken to the Over-The-Top-Platform (OTTP) within the next six months.

Also speaking on the occasion, Director of Radio Nepal Khagendra Khatri said that the knowledge, skills and experience of the retired employees would act as a guide to the current employees.

Altogether 13 retired employees of Radio Nepal were honoured with letters of appreciation during the program.
