Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Multipurpose Project will bring significant improvement in irrigation sector: PM Oli

March 4, PM KP Sharma Oli has said the Sunkoshi Marin  Diversion Multipurpose Project will have diverse positive effects along with significant improvement in the irrigation sector.

Laying the foundation stone for the Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion Multipurpose project at Kusumtar of Sindhuli on Thursday, PM Oli said after the completion of the tunnel-based national pride project, 31 Mega Watt electricity would be generated and 122 thousand hectors of land in Taria would be irrigated.

The PM further said the project would bring Hill and Tarai closer as it would provide irrigation facility in Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat and Bara.

He said the project would boost agro-produce in the country, help conserve the environment and reduce desertification of arable lands.
