Constitutional Bench orders to continue hearing writs against dissolution of House in constitutional bench itself

January 15, Kathmandu: The constitution bench has issued an order that the hearing on the writs filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives would continue in the constitutional bench itself.

Following the pleading on whether the case should be taken to extended full bench or to continue in the constitutional bench, the order was handed to continue hearing in the constitutional bench.

The constitutional bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana and Justices Bishowmvar Prasad Shrestha, Anil Kumar Sinha, Sapana Pradhan Malla and Tej Bahadur KC said since the case against the dissolution of the house requires serious constitutional interpretation, the case must continue in the constitutional bench.

12 writs out of 13 filed against the dissolution of house had demanded an extended full bench to hear the case.

The bench has also decided to conduct regular hearing on the case from Sunday onwards.
