Three dead and dozens injured in Afghanistan following an explosion at a mosque

August 18, Kathmandu: At least three people died and dozens were injured in an explosion in a mosque in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on Wednesday. 

Quoting the Taliban spokesman, BBC reported that the explosion occurred during the evening prayer in the mosque in the northwest region of Kabul. 

Although no group has claimed responsibility for the blasts, the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) has been carrying out such blasts in Afghanistan. 

The news agency Reuters quoted the Taliban as saying that the number of dead may increase as many of the injured as said to be in critical condition.
