Government committed to bringing back government lands from individuals’ name: Minister Thumbahamphe

April 6, Kathmandu: Minister for Land Management, Co-operative and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Shiva Maya Thumbahamphe has said the work of bringing back the government lands encroached by individuals in the government’s name was the biggest achievement of her ministry.

Speaking at a press conference organized on the occasion of her 100 days in office, Minister Dr. Tumbahamphe said the government was committed to bringing back the government lands from individuals’ name.

The minister added that around 10 hectors of land had been brought back in the name of government after investigating complaints.

She said the irregularities in land transaction could be eliminated if land owners, para-legal officers and government employees worked honestly.
