Death toll in Indonesia’s stadium disaster reaches 127

October 3, Kathmandu: The death toll in Indonesia’s stadium disaster has exceeded 127. It has been termed the world’s worst stadium disaster.

BBC has mentioned that hundreds more were injured in the stampede and suffocation at the stadium in East Java which happened during the football match played between the two arch-rivals.

The police fired tear gas after the supporters tried invading the pitch which caused the stampede. 

FIFA, fotball’s governing body, has said that it was wrong to use tear gas on supporters.
