Parliament’s term significant: PM Deuba

Kathmandu: Prime Minister and President of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said significant achievements were made during the term of the existing parliament.
Addressing the House of Representatives meeting today, PM Deuba said he had realized that the parliament had important achievements. He also claimed that the constitution and democracy were protected all because of the present government and ruling alliance.
The PM reminded that with the formation of the coalition government, the country’s foreign relations became smooth. The government is committed to holding elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner. The people affected by the landslides and floods were rescued, treatment to the injured ones provided, and relief materials distributed, he added.
The top leaders of the chief political parties are scheduled to address the HoR meeting today. The meeting began at 1:00 pm.
According to the federal parliament secretariat, the leaders including PM Deuba, Chairperson of major opposition party CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli; Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal; and Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist), and Madhav Kumar Nepal are scheduled to address the meeting. The meeting of the Council of Ministers held today had decided to recommend ending the 11th session of the parliament.
