Families and State’s role important for development of children: PM Deuba

September 14, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that families and the State have an important role in the development and protection of children.
In a congratulatory message to all the children on the occasion of National Children’s Day-2079, BS on Wednesday, Prime Minister Deuba wished them a bright and prosperous future.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Deuba viewed that each household, family, community, healthcare service, and school should be child-friendly so as to build a child-friendly nation by protecting the rights of the children.
The National Children’s Day-2079 BS is being celebrated with the slogan ‘ Basis for Children-Friendly Society: Responsible Family, Responsible Government.’

Noting that the Constitution of Nepal has guaranteed children’s rights as fundamental rights, the Prime Minister assured that the State had guaranteed rights that would ensure health, upbringing, due care, sports, recreation, and development of overall personality for children.
