Chairman Li Zhanshu arrives in Nepal

September 12, Kathmandu: The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Li Zhanshu, arrived in Nepal on Monday afternoon. 

Chairman Li arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon by a special plane for a four-day official visit to Nepal at the cordial invitation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Agni Prasad Sapkota.

Chairman Li was received by Speaker Sapkota in the VVIP lounge at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Speaker Sapkota and Chairman Li will hold a delegation-level bilateral meeting at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwar on Monday evening. 

Likewise, Speaker Sapkota will host a state banquet in honour of Chairman Li and his delegation on Monday itself.

During his visit, Chairman Li will hold courtesy meetings with President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina. 

Similarly, the main opposition party CPN (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ are also scheduled to meet Chairman Li.
