Russia depriving Ukrainians of basic necessities: President Zelensky  

September 12, Kathmandu: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has accused Russia of depriving the Ukrainians of their basic necessities, including electricity and water, as revenge for the recent success of the Ukrainian army. 

According to the BBC, 9 million Ukrainians are affected by the lack of electricity and water in the eastern regions of Ukraine including Donetsk and Luhansk. 

Ukraine claims Russia has targeted infrastructures such as electricity transmission lines, water distribution tanks, and roads. 

Meanwhile, Ukraine has said it has taken back its 3,000 square kilometres of land occupied by Russia.
