Foreign Secretary Paudyal meets with his Australian counterpart in prelude to Bilateral Consultation Mechanism’s meeting

August 29, Kathmandu: The Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Bharat Raj Paudyal, on Monday held talks with the Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, Jan Adams, in Canberra.

According to a statement released by the Embassy of Nepal in Canberra, the meeting between the secretaries focused on various matters of bilateral relations between Nepal and Australia.

On the occasion, the Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) between the Government of Nepal and the Australian government on Cooperation in the Fields of Water Resources Management was signed. 

The Secretary at the Water and Energy Commission, Dinesh Kumar Ghimire, and Australian Secretary Adams signed the MoU on behalf of their respective governments.

A Nepali delegation led by Secretary Paudyal had reached Canberra on August 28 to attend the Second Meeting of Bilateral Consultation Mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
