COVID-19: 888 new cases with one death

Kathmandu: A total of 888 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours. This was found in 5,737 samples tested in various laboratories across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Also during the same period, 474 people recovered or were discharged from health facilities. The total number of recoveries is 976,083 as of today.

Meanwhile, one person succumbed to the virus today, taking the death toll to 11,989. The case fatality rate stands at 1.2 percent.

The number of active cases has reached 5,387 with 5,188 in home isolation, 199 in institutional isolation, 64 admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of various hospitals and three undergoing treatment with the help of a ventilator.

Also today, 150,064 people were vaccinated against COVID-19, adds the Ministry.
