Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day celebrations held in Kathmandu

August 15, Kathmandu: The Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with the Nepal-Pakistan Friendship and Cultural Association (NPFCA) on Sunday organized a reception in Kathmandu to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun was the Chief Guest at the event while Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sher Bahadur Kunwar attended the event as Special Guest. Members of civil society, diplomats and the Pakistani community in Nepal attended the event.
Speaking at the occasion, the Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Sher Bahadur Kunwar, highlighted the close and cordial ties between Nepal and Pakistan and appreciated Pakistan’s support to Nepal in its development endeavours.
Similarly, the President of NPFCA, Himalaya Shamsher JB Rana, said that the association had been active for the last 61 years to further promote the Nepal-Pakistan relationship and take it to new heights.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Syed Haider Shah, appreciated the efforts of NPFCA for the promotion of friendly relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Shah reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and development and underlined the need for resolution of all outstanding issues through dialogue and peaceful means for lasting peace and prosperity for the people of South Asia.
Earlier on Sunday, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day.
