Communications Minister Karki directs line agencies for effective service delivery
Kathmandu: Communication and Information Technology Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has directed the sub-ordinate bodies to deliver services for the comfort of people.

Speaking at the annual progress review of the Ministry on Sunday, Minister Karki asked the officials to ensure service delivery by boosting the ministry’s morale.
Minister Karki also pledged to provide the ministry’s support to the initiatives taken by the bodies.
The Communication Minster shared that the Ministry fully implemented 67 milestones out of 122 targets in the last fiscal year and 42 others could not succeed as expected while the remaining 32 did not start.

Likewise, Communication Secretary Dr. Baukuntha Aryal stressed the need for implementing the Digital Nepal Framework. He asked the officials and stakeholders to make periodic plans so as to complete the expected target in the given quarter.
Similarly, Radio Nepal’s Executive Director Buddhi Bahadur KC said works had been forwarded to ensure Radio Nepal’s broadcasting service to the cent per cent population of the country.

Also speaking at the programme, Joint Secretary of the National Planning Commission, Kiran Rupakheti expressed that the concerns raised in the meeting would inspire the concerned bodies to move ahead more strongly.

Assistant Secretary at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Pramila Acharay opined that the bodies associated to the Communication Ministry should be more responsible as the development of the communication sector contributes to the development of other sectors.
During the annual review, Executive Chair of Nepal Television Samir Jang Shaha, Chairperson of National News Agency (RSS) Dharmendra Jha, and chief and representatives of the other sub-ordinate bodies presented progress reports and problems related to their bodies.
