NHRC draws government’s attention

Kathamndu: The National Human Rights Commission has demanded the government consider an amendment in the Act related to transitional justice in line with international principles.

Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, the human rights watchdog agency said the amendment in the Act should not contradict the verdicts issued by the Supreme Court.

The Commission urged the government to ensure justice to victims of conflicts after adequately consulting with the victims and stakeholders and adopting the recommendations of the Commission.
