We will not vacate the residences of the president and prime minister until resignation: Sri Lankan protestors

July 11, Kathmandu: Protesters in Sri Lanka have vowed not to vacate their homes until the president and prime minister resign. 

Although President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa announced his resignation and said he would resign on July 13 ( Wednesday), he has not yet made a formal statement, according to the BBC. 

Former Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has also fled his residence. 

Both are on a Sri Lankan navy vessel, the BBC reported, citing sources.
