National Assembly discusses budget allocation to seven different ministries

Kathamandu: The National Assembly discussed the budget allocation to seven different ministries on Wednesday.

Taking part in the discussion of Appropriation Bill-2022 in the meeting of the upper house today, the lawmakers expressed their views on the budget allocations to Education, Science and Technology Ministry, Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ministries, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ministry, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Drinking Water Ministry and Health and Population Ministry.

In the meeting, Health and Population Minister Birodh Khaditwada presented the Covid-19 Crisis Management Bill-2078 BS.

Prior to this, Industries, Commerce, and Supply Minister Dilendra Prasad Baud said the government has been forwarding a programme of replacing petroleum products to reduce their consumption in the country.

In the meeting, the lawmakers urged the government to replace LP gas by shifting to electric appliances, reduce the price of petroleum products by cutting the taxes down, reduce taxes on electric vehicles and curb skyrocketing prices.
