Lawmakers put forth views on budget

Kathmandu: Lawmakers continued to put forth their views on the estimates of revenue and expenditures for the next fiscal year, 2022/23 in the session of the House of Representatives on Wednesday too.

Nepali Congress lawmaker Sanjay Gautam expected increase in productions in the country as the budget had prioritised agriculture. But, the government should be serious about farmers going through the perennial problem of a lack of fertilizers, he added.

Stating that the budget was important in focusing country’s self-reliant economy, leader of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Dev Gurung pointed out that country’s economy could not be dynamic due to failure to spend allocated budget. He also focused stressed the use of electric materials in the context when fuel prices have been increasing.

Also, the CPN (UML) leader Lalbabu Pandit criticised the budget as having some ambitious plans. He accused the government of not allocating budget in some incomplete development projects.
