Parliamentary Committee directs government to immediately ban betel nut import

Kathmandu: The Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Welfare Committee of the federal parliament has directed the concerned bodies not to prohibit the import of betel nut.

During a meeting held with the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply and the Director-General of the Commerce Department on Wednesday, the parliamentary committee directed them not to ban the import of betel nut.
