Parliament ratified MCC compact for national development: Home Minister Khand

Kathmandu: Home Minister Bala Krishna Khand says the parliament ratified the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact for the country’s prosperity and development.

Speaking at a program organized at the Home Ministry today, Home Minster Khand said the grant from the MCC would be utilized for hydroelectricity generation, poverty alleviation, and physical infrastructure development.

He added that the transmission lines would be constructed for the consumption and trade of electricity produced in Nepal.

The Home Minister further said the ratification of the MCC compact had also maintained international communities’ confidence in Nepal.
