Government decides to hold local level elections on May 13

Kathmandu: The government has decided to hold the local level elections on the 13th of May.

Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said the meeting of the Council of Ministers held today decided to hold the local level elections on the 13th of May in a single phase.

Earlier, the Election Commission had recommended the government hold the election in a single phase on the 18th of May.

Prime Minister Sher Bahdur Deuba yesterday discussed the issues including local level elections, and MCC with main opposition CPN UML chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamla Dahal Prachanda.
