Use electricity to operate industries: Minister Bhusal (audio report)

January 12, Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal on Monday encouraged increased use of electricity and called the industrialists to establish large scale industries by using Nepal’s electricity.

Pledging facilitation on the part of the government, Minister Bhusal appealed with the industrialist for the same to boost domestic consumption of electricity.

Addressing the Nepal Power Market Summit-2022 in Kathmandu, Bhusal argued that increasing domestic consumption of electricity was the need of the hour as a large amount of electricity was being produced by hydropower projects in Nepal.  

In the event organized by the Independent Power Producers’ Association-Nepal, Confederation of Nepalese Industries, and Nepal Power Exchange Limited, the Energy Minister shared that the government had adopted the policy of replacing gas stoves with electric stoves and encouraging usage of electric vehicles to promote clean energy.
