Sixth memorial day of 2015 Gorkha earthquake marked

April 25, Kathmandu: The sixth memorial day of the 2015 Gorkha earthquake has been marked on Sunday.

The devastating quake had claimed at least 8 thousand 9 hundred and 79 lives and injured more than 22 thousand three hundred people.

The country also saw the loss of physical properties worth billions of rupees.

Meanwhile, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, remembering the deceased in the calamity, has expressed her grief over the loss of lives in the devastating quake.

She stressed on the need of eco-friendly, and resilient infrastructures to stand strong amidst calamity.

Likewise, Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority Shushil Gyawali said the reconstruction efforts of Nepal were worthy to be displayed to the world.

Addressing a programme in Kathmandu today, Chief Executive Officer Gyawali said the reconstruction efforts were exemplary and incomparable.

He also claimed to complete the remaining work of reconstruction including private houses within this year.
