Health Ministry urges all citizens in priority groups to get vaccinated against Covid-19
March 3, Kathamndu: The Ministry of Health and Population has urged all the people in the priority groups to get vaccinated against coronavirus.
Speaking at a press briefing at the Ministry on Wednesday, Ministry’s Spokesperson Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam requested all people above the age of 55 to get vaccinated during the second phase of the vaccination campaign to begin from 7th of March.
Prof. Dr Gatuam further said during the first 10 days of the vaccination campaign, senior citizens above 65 would get vaccinated and during the next 10 days, people aged between 55 and 64 would get vaccinated.
He also announced that the second dose of the vaccine would be administered to all within 8-12 weeks of receiving the first dose of the vaccine.
Meantime, the Ministry of Health and Population has revised the corona related death toll adding 2 hundred and 33 deaths today. With this Nepal’s corona, the related death toll has now reached 3 thousand and 10.
As per the Ministry’s report, 87 new corona infection cases have been detected in the past 24 hours with 62 recoveries.
The Ministry unveiled the data that out of more than 274 thousand 3 hundred infected people; more than 270 thousand 6 hundred have recovered from the infection.
Meanwhile, parliamentarians at the Federal Parliament have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. The lawmakers reached the Civil Service Hospital on Wednesday to receive the jab.
Receiving the vaccine Speaker Agni Pd Sapkota urged all citizens to receive the vaccine against covid-19 without any qualm. He also expressed the confidence that the vaccination programme would be successful as the environment for the same was well managed and convenient.
Health Minister Hridesh Tripathi also received the jab at the Hospital.
