Government made significant achievements during 3 years in office: PM Oli
February 15, Kathmandu: PM KP Sharma Oli on Monday inaugurated the retrofitted office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, in the main administrative building- Singha Durbar.

Inaugurating the retrofitted Singha Durbar (except on the western front), PM Oli argued that he was compelled to dissolve the house to defend the system and respect people’s mandate.
He claimed that he had no option except going to the people as some leaders within the party started harbouring dangerous obsession for power and attempted to set up a parallel government.
He further said various attempts were made to halt the bills in the parliament in the name of holding discussions. The attempts were also made to obstruct recommendations and appointments in vacant posts in the constitutional bodies and halt the appointments in the name of parliamentary hearing.
He claimed as his attempts to avoid the dissolution of the house for more than a year went in vain, and said that he was compelled to make the decision to take the fresh mandate of people.
Reassuring the elections on stipulated dates, the PM said he wondered how the step to go to people would be regressive.
Recalling the government’s performance during the first two consecutive years, the PM said the government had been able to attain 7% economic growth in the first years and the growth rate was even higher in the second year.
He also claimed that now the economy had grown dynamic in the post-pandemic period ensuring a sharp economic growth.
The PM stated the completion of employee adjustment, the endorsement of 89 new laws and hundred to amendments in existing laws were some of the achievements of the government.
Claiming the even during the pandemic the inflation has not gone more than 5 percent, the PM said the government has completed the reconstruction of Singha Durbar, and Rani Pokhari and the work of reconstruction of Dharahara was nearing completion.
He claimed to have made a stride in post-quake reconstruction.
He also claimed 98 per cent work of the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport and 70 per cent of work of Pokhara International Airport had been completed. He said but for the pandemic, the work would have been completed.
He further claimed to have energy production from existing 333 megawatts to 1430 megawatt and to have completed 98% work of upper Tamakoshi hydropower project
The PM also informed about the government decision of providing high speech internet to all schools and local levels, the efforts being carried out for containing corruption, and work of bringing the train service into operation.
