NCP Standing Committee meeting decides on holding general convention on coming April

Kathmandu: The Nepal Communist Party Standing Committee meeting has decided to hold the party unification general convention on 7th to 12th of April in 2021 in Kathmandu.

Similarly, the Standing Committee meeting has also decided on the work division between the two chairs of the party with Party Chairman and Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli focusing on government operation, and another Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal Prachanda focusing on party organization with the portfolio of executive chair.

Nepal Communist Party’s Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha informed that the meeting held at PM’s official residence at Baluwatar on Friday endorsed the proposal presented by the party chair duo incorporating the suggestions furnished by the party leaders.

Spokesperson Shrestha further said the meeting decided to lead the party based on the rules and regulations and the party would not interfere in the day-to-day functioning of the government. However, the government would operate as per the guidelines of the party and it should seek party’s suggestion in the fundamental issues.

The party’s meeting also decided to endorse the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) with some revision.

Spokesperson Shrestha added that the pact would be revised based on the recommendations furnished by the taskforce coordinated by the senior leader Jhalanath Khanal.

Commencing the meeting yesterday, Party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed his belief that the meeting would be able to lead the party unity to next height and lead the party with a new commitment.

Likewise, another chair of the party Puspa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said the meeting had provided a platform for leading discussions about the party’s issues, strengthening the party unity, and deciding on the party’s unity convention.
