President Bhandari presents government’s policies and programs in parliament
Kathmandu, May 3: President Bidya Devi Bhandari presented the government’s policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2019-2020 before a joint session of the Federal Parliament today.
Presenting the government’s programme and policies, the president said that the programmes and policies forwarded by the government will be instrumental to bolster federal republic and be able to move a head in accelerated pace bring all on board.
The presented policies and programme of the government has aimed to expedite the development pace. The president also said that the government’s policies are focused on human resources and infrastructure development to lay foundation for materializing the campaign of prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepalese.
The government’s policy also includes the programmes of bringing clarity in the work division among the three tier of governments, making judicial financial transfer to the other level of the governments, adopting equitable provincial development strategies, promoting people’s investment in the mega development projects, completing national pride projects in the stipulated time, generating five hundred thousands employment opportunities and setting up industrial zones in all seven provinces.
The policy also states to bring the 15th periodic plan from the first day of coming fiscal year keeping the vision of making the country a middle income country by 2100 BS. For the same the government policy has forwarded the 25 years plan with long term development programme.
Likewise, the policy states that the government will encompass all Nepalese in health insurance scheme, manage at least one doctor in each local level, set up one hospital with specialists’ facilities in each province, modernize agro sector, promote production by enhancing commercialization and registration of business and make country self reliant on poultry and animal products.
Similarly, the government will bring all the encroached public lands to government ownership, bring land use policies and develop specific section of various highways as emergency flight landing spaces.
Meantime the President also stated that the Nepal’s image has heightened in the international forums and International communities including neighbours Indian and China have agreed to realized the development endeavour in the country. She also said that the a hope of experiencing development in our life time has been set up and the foundation for the double digit economic growth has been prepared.
Saying Nepal has taken a stride in the infrastructure development, president Bhandari said that electricity consumption has increased, energy export has increased with the agreement singed with India and Bangladesh, digital Nepal programme has been implemented to deliver public services in an integrated manner and Nepal is developing as a favourite tourist destination internationally.
The policy also include the programm of initiating the construction of east west railway line, increasing social security allowance and adding another one thousand MW electricity in National grid.
Meantime, the separate meeting of the house of representatives and the National Assembly have thanked the president for her addressed to the joint session of the federal parliament.
In the meeting of the lower house, house speaker Krishna Bd. Mahara had presented the proposal to thank the president and in the National Assembly Nepal Community party lawmaker Dinanath Sharma had presented the proposal.
At the joint meeting of parliament, PM KP Sharman Oli had tabled the government’s policies and progarmme presented the president. Today itself the house of representative endorsed the Passport bill-2075 unanimously.
The next meeting of the house representatives has been scheduled for 5 May and the discussions are scheduled for the government polices and programmes has been fixed for May 5 -7.
