54th International Literacy Day being celebrated worldwide including Nepal
Kathmandu: 54th International Literacy Day is being marked on Tuesday across the world including Nepal with the slogan ‘Literacy Teaching and Learning in the COVID-19 Crisis and Beyond ‘.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli has said that the Constitution of Nepal has guaranteed free and compulsory education to everyone till the elementary level.

Giving his best wishes on the occasion, the PM said that the government had been implementing the aspirations regarding literacy and education mentioned in the constitution.
Similarly, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Girriaj Mani Pokhrel has wished that today’s day would inspire one and all for ensuring life long education to all citizens.
Meanwhile, The UNESCO is presenting an international award to Aging Nepal this year on the occasion of the International Literacy Day. The award carries a purse of 20,000 USD.
