Communist leader Bamdev Gautam’s song released

Kathmandu: A music video for the song penned by Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam titled “Yo Mukta Bumi, ho Buddha ko Bhumi (This liberated land is Lord Buddha’s land) was unveiled on Friday.

Apart from being one of the senior figures of Nepal’s communist movement, leader Gautam is an avid lyricist known for his patriotic songs. The music video for the song was released through social media due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The song calls on all Nepalese to maintain unity in order to safeguard national sovereignty. The song also talks about Nepal being the birthplace of Shakyamuni Gautam Buddha and professes admiration for Nepal’s unique art and culture.

Senior musician Sambhujit Baskota has given music to the song, while Manohar Sunam is the arranger of the song.

Produced by Haris Dev Gautam, the song has been sung by singers Roshan Raj Gurung, Mandavi Tripathi, Anjana Gurung among others.

Leader Gautam has penned more than a dozen such patriotic songs.
