Flights to be resumed from countries that have easy access to PCR tests
Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal (GoN) has decided to resume regular flights from the countries that have easy access to PCR Tests. The flights will resume from the 1st of September.
Unveiling Thursday’s cabinet decision amidst a press briefing in Singhadurbar on Friday, the government spokesperson, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Dr Yubraj Khatiwada said the cabinet decided to resume the regular flights with the maximum limit of 500 passengers per day.
Those who would like to come to Nepal should produce a PCR test negative report that was given not earlier than 72 hours of flight’s operation and the report should have been submitted to Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre via online. The returnees also must undergo a 7-day quarantine stay at the designated hotels.
The airlines would not be allowed to carry out regular flights from the countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait where PCR testing is not easy.
Minister DR Khatiwada further arrangement would be made for the rescue of stranded Nepalese from the countries that could not have a regular flight and chartered flights would be carried out based on the recommendation of the diplomatic mission.
