Joint efforts to tackle COVID-19 pandemic, pivotal : Foreign Ministers

Nepal, China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan have reiterated their commitment to joint efforts to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a virtual meeting among the foreign ministers of South Asian countries and China late on Monday, the foreign ministers expressed their commitment to work side by side to mitigate the negative impacts of the pandemic.
Addressing the meeting, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that China had prioritized extending cooperation with neighboring countries like Nepal.
Similarly, Nepali Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said that the coronavirus outbreak in the country had been kept in control due to the government’s efforts and initiatives.
Minister Gyawali also emphasized on the need for the world community to unite in order to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
High-level dignitaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) including Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi took part in the virtual meeting.
