Minister Pun urges foreign investment in Nepal’s energy sector

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Barsha Man Pun, who is on a visit to the United Arab Emirates, has held a meeting with Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Francesco La Camera.

Chief personal secretary of Minister Pun, Durga Prasad Chapagain said the meeting had focused on various aspects of renewable energy in Nepal.

On the occasion, the minister put forward a cooperation proposal for the development of renewal energy of Nepal, while also thanking General Director Camera for inviting Nepal to participate in an international renewal energy conference in the UAE.

He also urged foreign investment in energy sector of Nepal, stating that the country has created an environment conducive for foreign investment following a stable government led by Nepal Communist Party.
