Ministers discuss Citizenship Bill with PM Deuba

March 12, Kathmandu: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu has held discussion with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on various aspects of the bill designed to amend the Nepal Citizenship Act, 2063 BS.

During the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Friday, Home Minister Khand shared about the discussions held with the members of the House of Representatives at the Ministry on March 7 and 8.

During the discussion, they briefed Prime Minister Deuba on the views expressed by the leaders of the political parties. Likewise, the report passed by the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives and how to move the bill forward were discussed.

Similarly, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi paid a courtesy call on Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand.

During the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday , the issue of further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries was discussed. Talks were also held about the visit of a high-ranking Chinese official to Nepal.
