Nepal sided Ukraine as per Country’s foreign policy of Non-alignment: Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Khadka

Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Narayan Khadka says the world community has developed a positive perspective towards Nepal after the formation of the incumbent government.
Speaking at a program organized to review his 5 and half month term in office today, Minister Dr. Khadka said Nepal’s presence in the United Nations had become stronger during the period.
He added that Nepal played an active role to help Afghanistan overcome the humanitarian crisis which gave a message of humanitarian support.
The Foreign Affairs Minister further said during his term, the issue of former Gurkha soldiers was raised, antique objects were brought back to Nepal from various countries, and distribution of e-passport was initiated.
On the occasion, Minister Dr. Khadka clarified that Nepal’s move to take the side of Ukraine was only meant to stand in favour of humanity, not on the side of any power.
The Foreign Affairs Minister added that Nepal sided Ukraine as per the Country’s foreign policy of Non- alignment.
He stated that 5 hundred and 33 Nepal citizens had been safely evacuated from Ukraine, and vowed that the government was committed to protecting its citizens.
Minister Dr. Khadka also informed that high-level visits to Nepal from friendly nations would be made soon.
