CPN Maoist Centre Chair Prachanda proposes name list for 236-member Central Committee

Kathmandu: CPN Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has proposed the name list of 2 hundred 36-member Central Committee.

Chair Prachanda proposed 1 hundred 25 names towards proportional quota while 1 hundred 11 names twords open quota in the ongoing national general convention of the party. The central committee will be formally confirmed if the convention endorses the name list.

Earlier on Sunday, General Convention of the party elected chiefs of three different commissions of the party. As presidium member Ganesh Shah tabled the names of the proposed leaders, the closed-door session of the general convention approved them unanimously.

Leader Shah tabled the names of the chiefs and members of Accounts Commission, Election Commission and Disciplinary Commission. Bishnu Pukar Shrestha would lead the party’s Election Commission while Tanka Rai is named as the chair of Disciplinary Commission.

Similarly, Peshal पेशल Khatiwada is now the chair of Accounts Commission of the party. The committees consist of 25 members each.
