Life affected by chilling cold in Mahottari

Jaleshwor: Mahottari folks have been experiencing chilling cold due to the cold snap sweeping the region for the past five days.

Normal life has been hit hard due to cold waves, thick fog and cold wind blowing continuously since December 16. Day to day activities of the people have been affected and children and elderly persons have started falling ill due to this.

Farmers said that the winter crop and vegetables planted on farms have started rotting due to cold. The movement of people has now decreased at the city and rural areas of the district including Jaleshwor.

The sale of woollen and warm clothes has increased at different markets in the district. The number of patients visiting different health institutions including District Hospital has increased, said, doctors.
