Vote counting for post of Joint-General Secretary of Nepali Congress concludes
Kathmandu: Vote counting for the post of Joint-General Secretary of the Nepali Congress under its 14th General Secretary Convention has concluded.
The party’s Central Election Committee informed that leader Badri Pandey has been elected as a joint-general secretary under backward region cluster and leader Mahendra Yadav secured the post under Madhesi cluster.
Likewise, leader Farmullaha Mansur km/d’Nnfx dG;’/ was elected at the post of joint-general secretary under Muslim cluster, leader Umakanta Chaudhary was elected to the post under Tharu cluster and leader Kishor Shigh Rathaur secured the post under Khas Aarya cluster.
In the vote counting held yesterday, leader Maha Lakshmi Upadhyaya was elected as a joint-general secretary under women cluster, leader Jivan Pariyar was elected to the post under Dalit cluster and leader Bhishma Raj Angdambe cfªbDa] secured the post under the indigenous cluster.
As per the statute of the Nepali Congress, there is a provision for electing 8 joint-general secretaries under various clusters. With this, the Nepali Congress has finalized the names of its office bearers to be elected from its general convention.
The election committee of the party also informed that the vote counting for the post of central members of the party has begun following the results of joint-general secretary post.
