Khadka and Gurung elected Nepali Congres Vice-President

December 16, Kathmandu: Leaders Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhanraj Gurung have been elected as the Nepali Congress vice-president in the voting held under the 14th General Convention
According to the party’s Central Election Committee, Khadka won the election with 2,121 votes and Gurung got 1,908 votes. Khadka is the general secretary and Gurung is the central member of the current central working committee.
Meanwhile, Another vice-presidential candidate Vijay Kumar Gachchhadar lost by only two votes. He received 1,906 votes.
According to the party, other candidates for the post of vice-president Dr Chandra Bhandari got 1,580 votes, Sujata Koirala got 644 votes, Mahesh Acharya got 589 votes and Divyashwori Shah got 132 votes.
This is the first time that Congress has elected a vice-president. Earlier, there was a provision to nominate the vice-presidents.
