Women participation increasing in political party

December 10, Kathmandu: Two women ministers in the current government have observed that women participation in the party and government is increasing gradually.

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Sashi Shrestha, and Minister for Urban Development, Ram Kumari Jhankri, made such observation at a programme organized by Women Safety Pressure Group in the federal capital on Thursday.

They, however, said a lot more should be done for the full realization of inclusive participation in the State mechanisms. Minister Shrestha shared information that the internal struggle in CPN (Maoist Centre) had ensured 37 percent participation of women in the central committee. On the occasion, Minister Jhankri viewed that women safety was becoming a serious issue with the development of technology.
