Nepal launches e-passport

Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Narayan Khdaka has launched the electronic passport issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Amidst a programme organized by the Passport Department in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Minister Dr. Khadka launched the electronic passport by issuing the first one to Revered Centenarian Dr. Satya Mohan Joshi.

Addressing the programe, Minister Dr. Khadka called for contribution from all walks of life to uphold the image of country in the international arena saying Nepal has made a good stride in digital technology.

Also speaking on the occasion, Revered Centenarian Dr. Satya Mohan Joshi said the electronic passport upholds significance as it carries identity of the holders.

With the issuance of the electronic passport, the problem of staying in queue for passport is expected to end.
