Nepal’s Constitution itself prohibits discrimination and inequality: Foreign Secretary Poudyal

September 24, Kathmandu: Nepal has clarified that the Constitution itself has prohibited discrimination and inequality, reaffirming the fact that democracy and freedoms would be protected and promoted only through the robust institutions.

Virtually addressing the 10th ministerial-level conference of democratic community under the 76th United Nations General Assembly in a pre-recorded video, Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Poudyal said Nepal had prioritized gender equality.

Meanwhile, Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amrit Bahadur Rai virtually addressed a meeting on the impacts of snow and ice in society on Thursday.

He laid emphasis on elevated and coordinated efforts from national, regional and international fronts for the preservation of mountains and ecosystems.
